Life during and after the Covid-19 Pandemic

What would it be called freedom? Our lives before the pandemic or our lives now, in this quarantine? It is a human tendency to always complain and ask for more. First, I used to hear people asking for 6 months vacation twice a year. Well, I don’t know about twice a year, but they are definitely going to get at least 6 months of vacation and still they are complaining. Yes, there are conditions that you cannot leave your house physically but only through your cell phones, but you cannot get it all, isn’t it what’s life about.

Another question comes to my mind, was this Pandemic inevitable? And after this pandemic, will there be any possibility of the same circumstances to repeat itself? The answer is ‘Yes’. According to a Netflix documentary about Covid-19 and its origin, China has been conducting tests on animals extracting and finding new pathogens/virus for years now. They do this ahead of time and create vaccines for the virus, so that in future if there’s an outbreak such as Covid-19, the world would be ready for it. But there’s no such evidence yet and China hasn’t officially accepted about how the virus accidentally leave the lab. Viruses are not only present in bats but every other living organism that human beings consume such as chicken, goat, beef, etc. Happily, most of the viruses present in such animals are not fatal for humans, but daily scientists are finding new and new viruses from animals. So, yes pandemics such as this are inevitable, we have to live with that possibility for the rest of our lives. But the good news is human beings learn from their mistakes and grow as a species, that’s what makes us the most intelligent species on the planet and separates us from animals.

Humanity will learn from this pandemic and will be ready until the next time such an outbreak occurs. We all know the shortcomings/mistakes of countries they did which is the reason the Covid-19 grew its tentacles across the globe. For example, if China would have informed the world about the outbreak more in advance and if the other countries wouldn’t have taken this threat lightly and closed their borders priorly, the world would be a different place right now. There are other conspiracy theories about this outbreak, some people believe that this is some kind of a Bio-warfare, but honestly, I don’t want to get into that.

One more good news is the fact that humankind has survived such pandemics in the past in a century, at least one. Most of us freaked out recently when India crossed the mark of 1 lakh for total cases of Covid-19, but did you know that the number of cases per 1 lakh people in India is just 7.1 whilst the average cases per 1 lakh people of the world stands at 64. Also, India witnessed the slowest rise of Corona, it took 64 days for the cases to reach from 100 to 1 lakh, which is almost more than double the days it took for some other countries like USA, Italy, Germany, etc. Our government has been taking good care of the given situation, that’s all we have to keep in mind. So, the point is, we are gonna get through this eventually and come out of this even stronger. After the dust settles and we are through this, there will be no such thing as “normal” at least for a year or so. The world as we used to know will be different, public places, restaurants, offices, school/colleges will not be the same. There will be a sense of fear and anxiety all around the world, but slowly and gradually our lives will eventually become normal because healing is also inevitable.

Talking about the current living style in this quarantine, yes there is a sense of fear, yes there is anxiety, yes the world is on fire. But we all have to look on the brighter side, the mortality rate of this virus is somewhat 3% as of in India and differs from county to country. What it tells us is that from 100 infected people 97 people will recover healthily and occupy a better immune system which will avoid them from getting infected from the virus again inspite the fact that vaccine for this virus hasn’t even been invented yet, concluding that “We humans are stronger than this Virus”.

The point is don’t let the fear and anxiety get to you, and please avoid watching news channels, it only adds up to the negativity which is around the atmosphere. The news knowledge is obsolete, because no ones gonna ask you, how many people were infected or died on which day, getting the point? However, the important news and world updates we all eventually get through the social media, so avoid watching the news.

I get up everyday waiting to meet up my friends and loved ones when the day comes, imagining how the love and emotions will overflow, watching each day passing by. Yes, its hard sometimes makes me uncomfortable, but it eventually adds up to the emotions for the day when we will meet again. I hereby conclude, suggesting you’ll enjoy the drama outside #youtubevstiktok, as there’s not much drama left in our lives, but also beware of the real world. Most of us are students and gonna start our professional lives soon, so prepare yourself for this interview question ‘What did you do in your quarantine time period?’, because no one gives a damn about YouTube or tiktok outside in the real world. Trying to spread Love and Positivity through this article, Thank You!
